Another Great Blog Party!!

I just found another great way to find new friends while blog hopping. Come check it out and have a blast while doing so!!

Copy Cat Flower Anthro Necklace

I fell in love with Always chasing Life's copy cat version of Little Mama 's pom pom necklace, that I decided I wanted to give it a shot and try and recreate this chic necklace.

Well it was totally easy and quick to make and it only cost me about $7.00 considering I am just starting off and have no supplies. Well much to my surprise I was quite impressed with the end results and can't wait to try new colors.

How time Flies!

I created this blog because I wanted to have memories of the things that happen in my life! 17 years I gave birth to my 1st born son. He was so adorable, had a lot of black hair and was so chunky...rolls everywhere. It was almost like yesterday, when I held him in my arms and rocked him to sleep. Now today he is 6 feet tall 120 lbs and he is a senior in high school. Wow, I cant believe that my baby will be graduating high school and heading off to college this summer. Time flies oh so fast. Reality hit me for the first time yesterday when we went on a college tour knowing that in a couple of months he will be leaving my house and beginning his next phase in life. College!! Should I be scared? YES!! Should I be nervous? YES! Because I am his mother and never did I think this day would come so fast...!! But I want him to have the experience of college life!!

So to all my fellow bloggies with babies or toddlers, cherish your time with them and embrace them because one day you too will be in my shoes, wishing you could turn back the time to when you first laid eyes on the beautiful baby.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is in my town!

We all watch the show~ EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION and we see the financial hardship or life threatening illness these families are faced with daily. This week in my town of Middleburg, FL we have the honor of seeing it through our own eyes. Being able to witness it first hand has been an experience I will always have and hold close to my heart. Dedicated workers and volunteers all in one place helping build a new house for a family in need is really the talk of the town. I am just really happy to have been a part of this wonderful transformation.

Coughing, Wheezing, ER oh my!

As a parent our job is to protect our children at all cost. But how do we protect them from allergy induced acute asthma? How do I protect him from the little invaders blocking his lungs causing an attack. I know asthma is on the far end when it comes to major illnesses, however as a mom I am trying to wrap my hands around it.

Its hard when your little one comes to your bed at 2:30 a.m gasping for air saying,"I can't breathe!" You jump up heart racing in search of his albuterol pump and immediatley begin the rescue meds. After 20 min of home therapy,I could still see his flaring nostrils and stomach sucking in and knew a 3 a.m trip to the ER was necessary.

Upon arrival they were able to stabilize him by giving him oxygen along with two bronchodilators via a nebulizer. This seemed to do the job as his pulse ox went from 90 to 94 a bit of a improvement. As of 10 this morning he is doing much better still wheezing but able to breathe.

At this point, I would give anything not to see my 10 year old suffer when he gets these attacks. Its scary and I can sympathize with anyone going through this. There is no cure for asthma, it can only be controlled.

The Meaning of Jessie

According to Urban Dictionary the name Jessie means "A wonderful person who brings sunshine into people's lives. Being a Jessie is a beautiful thing and a rare quality.

This is so true, I love to make people smile and laugh even with my quirky ways. At the end of the day I know I made someone's day!

First Good Will Find

A couple of weeks ago I decided to go to my local Good will and browse around a bit on my lunch break. I had no idea what I was looking for, I just knew I wanted to buy something to make my house a little nicer because that is what others were blogging about great Goodwill treasures. Anyway, I came across an antique gold metal cute basket. I had not idea what I was gonna use it for, but I really adored the details and for $2.oo I had to have it. So I brought it home and put it on my kitchen counter and while it was a cute accent it looked lonely. So, I decided why not roll up some kitchen towels and keep them handy next to my sink. It was a cute little buy!! Thanks Goodwill...I am sure you will be seeing more of me!!

With love,

Birth of a blog!

I have been deciding for a while as to whether or not I should begin to blog, because I have never been a writer. I write emails, I write grocery list but I am not a writer lol. I am pretty sure I am not the only one with writers block. Its like I know what I want to say, its just never comes out right. So I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. I want this blog to be about my life and the memories that I can create for my within my home. Just so you know I have been in my house for five years and am embarrassed to say I have lots of unfinished projects I need to tackle. Had it not been for the inspiration of reading blogs, I would not be sitting here writing this! xoxo
